On the streets of Saigon

I always hear the term "stepping off of the plane was like stepping into a different world" cliche, I know but I've sat and tried to think of a million other possible expressions to describe the feeling, so for the lack of cleverness I'll just stick with that and move on....
The second Jane and I stepped off the plane and into the warm wet air we were accosted by several people coming up to us begging to give us a ride to the city. We were on the hunt for jane's dad who was going to pick us up from the airport. Well I can't really say we, having never met him, I wasn't really much help, I asked her to describe him to be somewhat useful, her reply was "he's a short, Asian, with a round face." we both knew I would be useless. After around five minutes or so we, I mean she managed to locate him. We grabbed a taxi and that's when I took my first glimpse of vietnam. The buildings are narrow and tall, many of which had people sitting outside in small tiny chairs or buckets. All of these buildings had some sort of storefront. Each selling something, Many of them inviting you to eat. And that is the very first thing we did! Mind you that it was about 11:30 at night and the city was hoppin. So pho is like the grand slam breakfast you eat after a night at the clubs! Being that it is one of my favorite foods I was all for it! After we made our way to jane's dad's house, a tall narrow five floor building. I'm still not quite sure who all lives there. But the twins are adorable.
